Prior to founding Magnum in 2006, Enrique de Leyva worked for McKinsey & Company for over 20 years, in Spain, Lisbon, New York and London. Enrique was the Managing Partner of the McKinsey Spanish Office. During his McKinsey tenure, he created in 1993, from inception, McKinsey's European Electric Power and Natural Gas practice, which under his leadership became the most highly regarded practice in Europe in this field. He was also co-Chairman of McKinsey's Worldwide Partner Election Committee (1998-2002), and a key member of the Worldwide Director Election Committee (2003-2006).
He had led over 300 consulting projects during his career, covering most functional areas (in particular, strategy, operations and corporate finance) and many industrial sectors (in particular, energy, financial services and basic materials).
Prior to McKinsey, he worked at Union Fenosa (1982-1984), a Spanish energy company, in financial planning and in regulatory affairs.

Enrique is currently Chairman of ITA and Aire Networks and Board Member of Vendap, ITASA and ROQ.

Enrique has an MBA from the Columbia Business School (Fulbright Scholar), and holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
